Booking Terms

Reservations:
old-gortan-schoolhouseBookings are weekly from Saturday to Saturday. The Schoolhouse will be available to guests from 3.00 pm on the date of arrival. Bag drop can be arranged earlier if necessary. Guests should depart the property by 10 am on the day of departure to allow sufficient time to prepare for incoming guests.

A non-refundable deposit of £150/week is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due to be paid in full 8 weeks before arrival. For bookings made within 8 weeks of the arrival date, full payment is required at the time booking.

Please note that cancellations within 8 weeks of arrival will not be refunded unless we successfully re-let. By making a booking for our property, you agree to these conditions.

Damage deposit:
You are asked to leave the house in the same condition as you find it and notify us of any breakages. It is expected that a plate or cup might get broken from time to time, though we would not expect more severe damage or unnecessary mess and untidiness. We ask that guests pay for any damage or loss caused to the property or contents during or as a result of their occupancy.

We therefore add a damage deposit (£100 week / £50 part week) to each booking. The house will be inspected at the time of guests’ departure. If any cleaning is required over and above the standard changeover for new guests, we will use the deposit to pay for this. The balance or full amount will be returned within 7 days.

If an item worth over the deposit is found to be damaged either during the visual inspection or later during the cleaning, then the replacement value will be charged to the guest who made the booking.

Bed linen and towels:
All bed linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels.

For guests staying for 2 weeks, additional bed linen and towels can be provided on request should you wish to change them at the end of the first week. We can also offer to clean the property for an extra charge.

Pets and smoking:
We regret that, for the comfort of future guests, we cannot accommodate pets and smoking is not allowed anywhere within the property.

Travel Insurance:
We strongly recommend that guests take out holiday insurance to minimise the cost and inconvenience of cancelled bookings.

We cannot be held responsible for late or non-arrival or cancellation of the holiday caused by ferry or flight disruptions due to bad weather or any other reason, and will not be able to provide refunds if this occurs.

We also advise guests to take out insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects. Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owners’ risk. The proprietor is not to be held responsible for any loss or damage or any injury to persons not caused through the fault of the proprietor.
